As some of you may know, I used to ride and show horses competitively for the better part of my childhood and teenage years. Life got in the way a little bit and although showing horses is in my past, my love for horses and how happy I feel when I am around them will never go away. So, when Angela contacted me and had an idea to do a Love Session that incorporated the two loves of her life, her boyfriend Jose and horses, I was chomping at the bit waiting for our session date to arrive! (Oh my gosh I can't even believe I actually TYPED THAT OUT... I apologize. Seriously, that's just bad).
As Angela and I discussed her ideas, she really helped me get a clear vision of what she wanted. Something that was more focused on her and Jose versus the horses. Something soft and romantic, with pretty light and a glamorous feel. Working with horses is a challenge that I am familiar with, so I was really excited that she wanted the session to be more about her and Jose, which allowed us to let Art (the gorgeous horse in these photos) hang out and "be himself".
The original date we had scheduled was nasty weather-wise, but I'm so happy we rescheduled. The weather was perfect. Being around the horses, the smell of fly spray and leather, soft whinnies and swishing tails made me miss my horsey-world SO much. So much so, that I think I'm going to look for a place to take lessons again! - A
We started off the session with just Angela and Jose so they could get comfortable with me... this was one of the first frames and I was like "Okay, bring on the horse ya'll are READY!"

Favoriteeee!

Angela, could you be any prettier?!

Such a handsome boy- even with a mouthful of food hahaha. I feel bad for whoever had to clean the bit after this session!

Yay! Now that Lindsay and Daniel are official, we can share Lindsay's Bridal portraits! Lindsay's session was awesome because she really personalized her portraits based around the people she loved. The first half of the session we photographed Lindsay with Daniel's beloved show truck, which Lindsay had on display as a surprise for Daniel during their first dance! Then, we went to a gorgeous home in Mathews where Lindsay's grandmother had lived. The house was AMAZING, and the perfect backdrop for bridals. I could photograph there everyday! - A

Gah! So stunning!

The buzzword of the day was "FINALLY!". Finally it was time for Lindsay to get into her dress, finally it was time for Daniel to wait at the end of the aisle, and finally it was time for them to be married. Because, you see, this wedding was ten years in the making. When Lindsay met Daniel, they were just kids, and she wanted a boyfriend with a "cool car". Daniel fit the bill, but she never could have imagined how a teenage love would change into something that she wanted for the rest of her life. So when family and friends joked around that the wedding day was finally here, and "what took you so long!?", it was a gentle teaser, because really, they all knew this day was coming years ago. And watching these two together, as we've gotten to know them over the past year, it's easy to see that though they took their time getting here, now that they're here, they are never letting go.
Lindsay + Daniel- Thanks for being awesome. We're so excited for you guys. Have an AMAZING time in St. Lucia (seriously, can you fit us in your suitcases?!) We love you! - A

Her florals were so unique and gorgeous - the lavender detailing that appeared several times was so different!

They sealed the deal with a kiss- and then a hi-five. That's why they are awesome.

Congrats you two!
